A Year of Healing, Unlearning, and Coming Home to Myself

As I close 2025, I find myself sitting with deep gratitude, reflection, and healing. I often call 2025 my healing year, and I say that with honesty and gentleness toward myself.

For a long time, I carried the baggage of childhood complexes and unhealed traumas. From the way I spoke English and worried about accents, to how I viewed my body and measured my worth, much of my life was shaped by self-doubt. But 2025 taught me something powerful: to love myself better than ever before.

This year, I slowly began learning how to define myself, instead of letting my achievements define me. I am still in the process of learning who I am, exploring how to be a better human each day, and allowing myself to grow without harsh judgment.

I tried new things.

I started writing this newsletter, Echoes of Peace and Planet.

I networked, met people, facilitated sessions in person, and leaned into conversations with openness.

I practised being an active listener, investing time in deep listening rather than quick responses.

I reconnected with lost friendships and found them returning stronger, deeper, and more honest.

I am co-creating something meaningful for nature with my friend, reminding myself that change often begins with small, sincere collaborations.

This year also deepened my understanding of the power of women; their resilience, care, leadership, and quiet strength.

I learned to be a proud daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and so much more – embracing these identities not as roles, but as sources of love and grounding.

I received leadership roles and experienced moments of recognition and achievement. While I initially planned to highlight those “winning moments,” I realised something important while writing this: My biggest achievement of 2025 was choosing myself, loving myself and healing myself.

As I look ahead to 2026, I carry hope and curiosity. I want to explore my human values more deeply, live with greater intention, and shape a future rooted in compassion, courage, and authenticity.

Here’s to healing. Here’s to becoming. Here’s to growing; slowly, honestly, and wholeheartedly.
